Gangtok: Justice P D Dinakaran, who is facing threat of impeachment in Rajya Sabha for alleged corruption, was today swornin as the Chief Justice of the Sikkim High Court at a ceremony boycotted by two bar associations.

Sixty-year-old Justice Dinakaran, who was transferred to the state from Karnataka following the allegations, was sworn in by Sikkim governor Balmiki Prasad Singh at the Ashirwad Bhavan in the Raj Bhavan complex. Justice Dinakaran has denied allegations. CM Pawan Chamling, cabinet ministers and top officials were also present.

Members of both Bar Association of Sikkim and the HC of Sikkim Bar Association boycotted swearing-in ceremony to protest the manner in which SC Collegium and Centre had effected the transfer of Justice Dinakaran. PTI
