BRT Delhi: 2 deaths per kilometer : Delhi Govt looking for a record?

BRT in Delhi ( 5.6 km ) has already claimed 11 precious lives since April 08.

It appears as though the Government of Delhi wishes to set a record on the number of deaths per kilometer of road space.

The Chief Minister of Delhi said in an election meeting that the BRT corridor will be completed.

The speaker of Delhi Assembly in a moment of clarity and sanity has promised to stop the BRT work immediately.

Blueline bus crushes woman in Delhi’s BRT corridor

New Delhi, Oct 8 (IANS) A speeding Blueline bus crushed a 42-year-old woman to death when she was crossing the road at the controversial Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor in south Delhi, the police said Wednesday.

Poonam Sharma came under the wheels of a privately operated Blueline bus plying on route number 534 between Anand Vihar and Mehrauli near the Chirag Delhi flyover late Tuesday, police said.

Sharma, a resident of Madangir area, was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where she was declared brought dead. She was the 11th person dying in the BRT corridor.
