FIR against 3 year old for use of abusive language
Three-year-old has first brush with law

Darbhanga: Three-year-old Ajay Mallik, apparently, had no inkling why and where his grandfather, Ramvilas Mallik, who had clung him on his shoulder, was heading to on one scorching afternoon. With his two sons – Santosh Mallik and Arun Mallik – in tow, Ramvilas Mallik wiped off his face with a towel and patted his grandson, as if to reassure him, even as the tiny soul curiously looked at men in black robes moving around.
It was a bizarre scene at the court of chief judicial magistrate (CJM) here recently. Ajay, along with his father Santosh Mallik, uncle Arun Mallik and his grandfather, had been made accused in a case relating to violent attack and use of abusive language against complainant Sitaram Mallik’s daughter Kiran Kumari.
According to the FIR lodged with Baheri police station, the accused beat up Kiran mercilessly after she “exchanged heated words” with Ajay Mallik over the issue of fetching water from a government hand pump in village Dhanauli under Baheri police station of Darbhanga district.
According to information, the FIR (no. 63/08) was lodged at Baheri police station during the tenure of then officer in-charge Vijay Kumar Singh. Meanwhile, the accused surrendered in the court of CJM Vijay Kumar Shrivastava and filed a bail petition. However, no bail plea was filed on behalf of the three-year-old “accused”.
It was, however, brought to the notice of the court that the child was among the named accused in the FIR.
